Tile Roof Installation Process
Tile Roof System
POTTÞÉTTÞAK ehf. installs professional tile roof systems designed for durability and strong weather protection in Icelandic conditions
Step 1 – Waterproof Membrane Installation
First, the roof is waterproofed using two layers of roofing membrane (Takpappi or equivalent). The membrane is installed using the gas torch method to create a strong waterproof barrier.
Step 2 – Protective Fabric Layer
After the membrane installation, we install one protective fabric layer (Drukur) to protect the
waterproof membrane.
Step 3 – Insulation Installation
Next, roof insulation is installed depending on project requirements. Common insulation thickness
options include:
- 2.5 cm
- 5 cm
- 8 cm
- 10 cm
- 12 cm
- 15 cm
- 18 cm
Step 4 – Roof 100 Fabric Layer
After insulation installation, we apply Roof 100 fabric to stabilize the system and protect the insulation.
Step 5 – Tile Installation
Finally, roof tiles are installed according to the project design and architectural requirements.
