Stone Roof System

Service List

POTTÞÉTTÞAK ehf. installs professional stone roof systems designed for durability and strong protection against Icelandic weather conditions.

Step 1 – Waterproof Membrane Installation

First, the roof is waterproofed using two layers of roofing membrane (Takpappi or equivalent). The membrane is installed using the gas torch method to create a strong waterproof barrier.

Step 2 – Protective Fabric Layer

After the membrane installation, we install one protective fabric layer (Drukur) to protect the waterproof membrane.

Step 3 – Insulation Installation

Next, roof insulation is installed depending on project requirements. Common insulation thickness options include:

Step 4 – Roof 100 Fabric Layer

After insulation installation, we apply Roof 100 fabric to stabilize the system and protect the insulation.

Step 5 – Stone Installation

Finally, a layer of roofing stone is installed on top of the system. The stone layer protects the waterproof membrane, improves drainage, and adds additional weight to stabilize the roof system.

The stone quantity can vary depending on the project design and is typically calculated and charged per cubic meter (m³).
